Isaiah 61 - The Year of the LORD's Favor

Lord as I come to you this morning, restoration is the word that has been coming to mind since I came before you yesterday. As I visualized throwing my ashes to wind, and having You carry them off, I had an uplifting in my soul - I believe that I truly can have a new life, like the one You tell me in Your promises. Father, with all that goes on in everyone's moments to moments, as I know I am not alone, the amazement of Your care and tenderness overwhelms my soul. I pray Lord, that as you continue to restore my hope, my life, my sanity, my health, my mind and my family - that I can always feel Your presence and your strength. In all this I am believably, for the first time in my life, joyful as I set one foot in front of the other.

Lord, as I seek You this morning, You know my concerns - without a word, my heart and mind are fully and completely exposed. The restoration I seek Lord, is not only for me, but for my family. Father God, as I come to you today, You know the devastation of the choices made and only You can restore us from that storm. Father, I praise You for all that has been done already; thank You for the life I now have, and the hope that exists in me because of Your works in me. Thank You for giving me a life that leads to the true life of an eternity in You.

Thank You Lord for the hearts of the people who have prayed and are praying and lifting me and my family up to You these past few days. Bless them, hold them in Your loving arms. I pray for their protection as they pray, that restoration can be completed in them too. Thank You for Jesus - Lord, for the hope that is - in the precious blood of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Isaiah 61 (New International Version)
Isaiah 61
The Year of the LORD's Favor
 1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
       because the LORD has anointed me

       to preach good news to the poor.

       He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

       to proclaim freedom for the captives

       and release from darkness for the prisoners,
 [a]

Psalm 147:3 (New International Version)

 3 He heals the brokenhearted
       and binds up their wounds.

 2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
       and the day of vengeance of our God,
       to comfort all who mourn,
 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
       to bestow on them a crown of beauty
       instead of ashes,
       the oil of gladness
       instead of mourning,
       and a garment of praise
       instead of a spirit of despair.
       They will be called oaks of righteousness,
       a planting of the LORD
       for the display of his splendor.
 4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
       and restore the places long devastated;

       they will renew the ruined cities

       that have been devastated for generations.
 5 Aliens will shepherd your flocks;
       foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
 6 And you will be called priests of the LORD,
       you will be named ministers of our God.

       You will feed on the wealth of nations,

       and in their riches you will boast.
 7 Instead of their shame
       my people will receive a double portion,
       and instead of disgrace
       they will rejoice in their inheritance;
       and so they will inherit a double portion in their land,
       and everlasting joy will be theirs.
 8 "For I, the LORD, love justice;
       I hate robbery and iniquity.

       In my faithfulness I will reward them

       and make an everlasting covenant with them.
 9 Their descendants will be known among the nations
       and their offspring among the peoples.

       All who see them will acknowledge

       that they are a people the LORD has blessed."
 10 I delight greatly in the LORD;
       my soul rejoices in my God.

       For he has clothed me with garments of salvation

       and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness,

       as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,

       and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
 11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up
       and a garden causes seeds to grow,

       so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise

       spring up before all nations.

  1. Dear Jesus,
    As I read this I am inspired by the uncanny timing that I recognize as divine choreography. I have purposed not to excuse it as coincidence but rather a time to deepen my understanding and commitment to the Lord. I know He has good plans for me and my life. I am proclaiming this over my life.
    The irony of this is the Lord gave me a proclamation at the beginning of this year that has been followed by 7 months of the largest battles my life has ever faced. My faith hasn't failed me but in so many ways I have failed my faith. The good news is that it's not over and I am more encouraged now than ever before. Thanks for sharing what the Lord has led you to share. I've included the letter as a part of the testimony the Lord is preparing. I once was told that you won't have a "test"imony without the "test". The following is the proclamation the Lord laid on my heart.

    How I Win In 2010

    Jesus says in John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." He also says in John 16:33 " In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world". Since we know that Jesus has won the ultimate victory how then does that include us? The mystery is told to us in Ephesians 6 "6 And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus". How then do we actualize the promised blessing? Quite simply by believing it, claiming it, and walking it out in faith. Take ownership of God's Word.

    Lord being made worthy by the blood of the cross I accept your provision of abundant life. I declare in the name of Jesus that I am more than a conqueror and I have what I say now because of Your victory over death, hell and the grave. You call those things which be not as though they were and being an imitator of Christ I also in faith call upon Your supernatural power to change my natural helplessness. I release Your anointing over my life today by putting on the full armor of Your Word. As I invoke Your blessings I also rebuke Satan's devour by binding him with this truth, that greater is Jesus that lives in me than Satan that has already been defeated by Him. I do not permit myself to fear anything rather I build my faith by calling to remembrance that the Lord has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. I trust Your word as the final authority in my life even and especially when my emotions lie to me. I forgive all who sin against me and I return evil with good. I live by the law of Love and expect that what Satan intends to serve as a curse You will use for a blessing. May I bless You Lord with the choice to Love You in all of today's circumstances. I praise and bless You in your son Jesus' name. Amen
